Rectal & Vaginal Insufflations

Ozone insufflations are an ideal way to ensure maximum ozone absorption.

There are several ways to practice vaginal insufflations. At minimum, you can choose a catheter and hook it directly to your ozone generator. We carry several sizes. You can also choose to use a specialized Vaginal Insufflation Kit, which is designed to maximize ozone absorption.

Insufflation bags make it easy to hold a specific amount of ozone that can then be insufflated at your speed. An Ozone Syringe functions much the same way. If you want to ensure you are using a specific amount of ozone, we highly recommend using a bag or syringe. Simply choose one that holds the amount you want to use.

Rectal insufflations are one of the most popular methods of using rectal ozone therapy. At a minimum, you will want to choose a catheter that is sized best for you. You can see the options below. If you want to control exactly how much ozone you are receiving and at what speed, we recommend using an insufflation bag or an ozone syringe.

Ozone can be drying. To avoid this, we recommend using a Water Bubbler/Humidifier Combo or a standard Humidifier. Once the water is saturated, this does not lessen the strength of ozone.

What is ozone therapy?

It is a term which describes a number of different practices in which ozone, also known as activated oxygen, is administered to the body. Ozone has been shown to stimulate the immune system, increase blood circulation, and aid in the production of single oxygen species in the body. More oxygen leads to an improvement of the immune system, which then kills germs with the help of white blood cells. Defective cells or diseased cells are then removed and replaced.

Oxidation naturally occurs in the human body, which is how our bodies fight off disease. There are many different forms of ozone therapy, and the one gaining in popularity and effectiveness is rectal insufflation. This video will provide information about rectal insufflation and how to perform it.

Rectal insufflation is a procedure during which the user inserts a small amount of ozone gas into the rectum using a tube or catheter. The ozone gas is absorbed through the colon walls and then distributed into the blood, which is then carried throughout the body.

Why is rectal insufflation the preferred method?

Think of ozone as a way to supplement your general health by stimulating the body's natural immune system. The simplest, most effective way for your body to use ozone is through the rectum. This is the preferred method because ozone is a gas that can irritate the lungs; with rectal insufflation this is not an issue.

In addition, your colon has a tremendous amount of blood vessels, including the portal vein, which leads to the gastrointestinal tract and to the liver. Supplements like suppositories used rectally are distributed much faster and more effectively throughout the body. Supplements taken orally are slower and less effective overall.

Rectal ozone insufflation is a simple and effective method.

What do I need to know before doing a rectal insufflation?

It is recommended you have your colon as clean as possible before you do a rectal insufflation. This can be done by doing an enema in your preferred position or having a bowel movement. Doing an enema before your rectal insufflation is recommended, but for some a bowel movement will be sufficient.

What is the best position for a rectal insufflation?

The best position when doing a rectal insufflation is to lie on your right side. It is important to lie on your right side when doing a rectal insufflation to allow for maximum absorption since the descending colon is on the left side of your body.

What are the recommended settings?

The recommended setting for a rectal insufflation is an oxygen flow rate of 1/8 liters per minute and an ozone generator setting that will provide 20 to 50 gamma of ozone, also known as micrograms per milliliter. For this demonstration, we are using the O3Elite single ozone generator. If you have an O3Elite Dual, you will use the ozone output chart that came with your machine. To achieve the ozone concentration of 33, simply set your oxygen flow rate to 1/8 of a liter per minute and adjust the ozone dial to setting number three.

The average amount of gas inserted into the rectum starts at 125 milliliters and can increase up to 500 milliliters depending on the person. 500 milliliters can be achieved by running the oxygen at one eighth of a liter per minute for a total of four minutes. For the best results, you will want an ozone generator that will let you adjust the ozone concentration.

Being able to target a specific ozone concentration using both your oxygen source and your ozone generator will allow you to use a wider range of settings and easily work up from lower to higher. It also makes it easier to use your equipment for other ozone applications. Many non-adjustable generators will not give you this freedom and may not be precise enough for insufflations and other forms of ozone therapy.

You will need to use a lubricant to insert the catheter, such as olive oil or coconut oil. There are several different ways to do an insufflation. Using a bag is currently the preferred method. Set your oxygen and ozone to the desired setting. Once the ozone starts to exit the ozone generator, attach the insufflation bag to the ozone out port of your ozone generator. You will then see the bag begin to fill.

Once the bag is filled to the desired level, disconnect the bag from the ozone generator and clamp the tubing so the ozone is locked in the bag. Next, turn off your ozone and oxygen, and then attach the catheter to the insufflation bag. Set yourself in the correct position and insert the catheter 4 to 6 inches. Once the catheter is fully inserted, you will then roll the bag to squeeze out the ozone. Do this slowly.

Once the bag is fully emptied or if you feel bloated, pull out the catheter. You can now get up and move around, but try to hold the ozone gas for 20 minutes. If you experience any irritation when performing a rectal insufflation you may want to consider adding an ozone humidifier.

An ozone humidifier attaches moisture to the ozone, so it's less drying. When using a humidifier, it is important to let the water saturate with ozone for up to 10 minutes before using. This will ensure the correct strength of ozone is coming out of the humidifier. The filter system is designed to eliminate excess ozone from entering the room until you are ready to use it. When you are ready to fill the bag, simply turn the switch on the filter system to fill the bag. When the insufflation is over, you are left with drinkable ozonated water.

What to expect after the insufflation?

After the insufflation, some people notice an urge to go to the bathroom or to release gas. This is completely normal and should not be a cause for alarm. Over time, your body will adjust to the ozone. After you are done with your rectal ozone insufflation, you can then reuse the catheter or dispose of it. If you choose to reuse the catheter, rinse with water and soap until clean. After that, you can use hydrogen peroxide to rinse the catheter clean followed with the water rinse. Once this is done, cleanup is complete.

Today we're going to discuss ozone vaginal insufflations.

If you want more information on ozone, check out our basics of ozone therapy video linked in the description below. For this video we're going to assume you already know about ozone.

Vaginal insufflations are a method of delivering ozone to the body at a safe concentration through the vagina. These are a great way to provide ozone systemically into the body. The vaginal wall has the ability to absorb ozone into the bloodstream and lymph system, making it an ideal combination option.

There are two ways to do vaginal insufflations and we're going to go over both of them. After that we'll go over how to perform these insufflations.

The first method is the easiest. You'll need a high purity oxygen source, an ozone generator, an insufflation bag, and a vaginal applicator. You will fill the bag up with ozone, attach it to a catheter or vaginal insufflation device, and then administer the ozone. This is fast and easy.

The second method is a little more complicated but can provide added benefits. You'll need an oxygen source, ozone generator, a water bubbler humidifier combo, some extra tubing and
connectors, and a vaginal applicator. With this method, ozone runs from the ozone generator into the humidifier and then into the applicator of your choice. The advantage of this method is that the ozone flow is constant and the humidifier moistens the ozone so it's less drying. Using this method some are able to insufflate more frequently and for longer periods of time.

Now I'll describe how to perform the first method. Hook up your oxygen source to your ozone generator. If you have questions about this you can check out our setup videos linked in the description. Once the oxygen is hooked up you'll set the flow rate. A good rate for filling an insufflation bag is 1/4 liters per minute. Once it's flowing you will turn on the ozone generator, setting your ozone dials to the right number to get around 30 gamma. For example with our O3Elite single, with your oxygen set to 1/4 you will set the ozone dial
to 7. Consult the gamma chart that came with your machine to see which numbers will work for you. It is important to use an ozone generator that can be adjusted directly on the machine for greater flexibility as ozone can be irritating and uncomfortable if the gamma is too high.

Once your ozone is set, attach the insufflation bag directly to the ozone generator. Make sure the clamp on the bag is open. Fill the bag to the amount of ozone you want to use, from 200 to 750 milliliters. A good starting point is 200 milliliters. Make sure you don't over inflate the bag. Once you have the right amount of ozone in the bag, unscrew the bag from the ozone generator. Clamp the tubing on the bag to close it. Turn off the ozone generator, then turn off your oxygen.

Attach your insufflation applicator to the bag. Before inserting, lubricate the applicator with a good natural lubricant. All-natural plant oil is good for this. It is recommended that you lie down on your back and to put a towel underneath you to catch any discharge. Not everyone will experience this. Insert the device 3 to 5 inches and slowly roll the bag to
deliver the ozone. Go as slowly as you need. When the gas exits the applicator it will travel down the vaginal canal and exit. It is not a concern if the gas does not exit evenly.

Once you have emptied the desired amount of ozone, remove the applicator and detach the bag. You'll want to wash or dispose of the applicator. If you wash it use soapy water, hydrogen peroxide, and then rinse with water. Check out the end of this video for what you can expect after an insufflation and more information on how often to perform them.

Now we'll go over the second method. Once again you'll want to hook up your oxygen to your ozone generator. A setup video is linked in the description if needed. After hooking up the oxygen you will attach the ozone humidifier. We recommend the water bubbler humidifier combo because of the included filter system. For information on how to set this up you can check out the video linked in the description.

You will need some extra silicone tubing and you'll want to make sure the humidifier will be close enough for the tubing to reach you. Use distilled water with your humidifier and make sure the diffusing stone is fully covered.

Turn on your oxygen source to 1/16 or 1/8 liters per minute. Set your ozone generator to achieve around 30 gamma. Use the ozone concentration chart that came with your generator to find the right settings for this output. If you're using the o3elite single and your oxygen flow is 1/16 you'll set the generator to 1. If your flow is 1/8 you'll set the generator to 3. You should now see ozone bubbling in the humidifier. Make sure the filter system on the bubbler is set to filter the ozone. Wait 10 minutes for the water to saturate with ozone.

Once that's done attach the extra piece of tubing to the exit port on the destruct filter and attach a male luer lock fitting to the other end of the tubing if one is not already installed. Attach the applicator to this fitting. You can lubricate the applicator with some natural plant oil. Lie on your back on a towel and insert the applicator 3 to 5 inches.

Turn the switch on the filter system so ozone flows through the applicator. Because you are using a humidifier, you can insufflate 5 to 15 minutes depending on your level of experience and your needs. When you're done flip the switch on the filter to turn off the flow then turn off your ozone generator. After that you can turn off the oxygen. Wash or
dispose of the applicator. If you wash it use soapy water and hydrogen peroxide and then rinse with water.

After an insufflation you may experience some gas pressure which will slowly diminish. For some users you may experience spotting for up to several days. This is normal. It is recommended to perform vaginal insufflations every third day. If you do it too much you may experience irritation. If you do, discontinue use or consult your health care practitioner.
