Who are we? Promolife has been in business since 1999, when we decided to offer natural products to promote a healthier lifestyle. “Thanks for taking care of me. I absolutely appreciate it. Sorry to say, I tried to order from one of your competitors first. It turned out to be a pretty bad experience. I confess that I was a little gun shy ordering from you. But, you proved to be very professional.” - Aileen
Getting Started With Ozone Therapy At Home
A Beginner's Guide
Thinking about starting ozone therapy at home, but not sure where to begin? You're in the right place!
Ozone equipment can look complicated at first. Generators, oxygen tanks, regulators, tubing, bubblers...it's a lot!
But every home ozone setup is built from the same few pieces. Once you understand them, putting a system together is simple.
The Four Building Blocks of an Ozone Setup
Every ozone system has four core parts:
Oxygen flows from your source, through the regulator, into the generator, and out to your accessory. That's it!
Step 1: Start with Your Applications
Before choosing any equipment, ask yourself: how do I plan to use ozone?
Common home applications include ozonated water, topical use (cups and bags), insufflation, ozone saunas, and dental use. Your applications decide which generator and accessories make sense, so start here rather than with the equipment.
Not sure yet? That's okay. Plenty of people start with one or two applications and expand over time.
Step 2: Choose Your Ozone Generator
Your ozone generator is the heart of your system. Here's a quick breakdown of the Promolife lineup:
- O3Elite Mini: The simplest, most affordable option, for people with one or two applications in mind
- O3Elite Single: Our most popular generator, covering most home applications
- O3Elite Dual: Higher output, and the right choice for ozone saunas
- O3Arc / O3Arc Lite: Professional-grade controls for practitioners
Undecided? The O3Elite Single is the best starting point for most people. For a deeper comparison, see Which Ozone Generator Is Right for You?
Step 3: Choose Your Oxygen Source
Ozone generators don't run on room air. They need a high-purity oxygen source. Your options:
- O2Ready Prefilled Tanks: The easiest option, with no supplier needed
- Industrial Oxygen: The most common and budget-friendly long-term option
- Prescription (870) Oxygen: For anyone with a prescription or practitioner's license
- Oxygen Concentrator: The go-to choice for ozone saunas
For the full breakdown, see Oxygen for Ozone Therapy: Which Source Is Right for You?
Step 4:
Get the Right Regulator
Each oxygen source uses its own regulator, which controls your flow rate in liters per minute (LPM). The most common setting for ozone generators is 1/8 LPM.
Step 5: Add Accessories for Your Applications
Accessories are where your setup becomes yours. A few examples:
- Ozonated water: Water bubbler and destruct
- Topical: Ozone cups and bags
- Insufflation: Syringes, bags, and catheters
- Sauna: An ozone-compatible sauna
Every Promolife generator comes with the basics to get connected: silicone tubing, oxygen tubing, Kynar luer lock fittings, and an ozone-resistant check valve. Not sure which accessories you need? See our Ozone Accessories Guide for a full breakdown by application.
The Easy Route: Ozone Packages
Want to skip piecing it all together? Our home ozone packages bundle a generator with the accessories
for specific applications, so everything works together right out of the box.
Before Your First Session
Remember the golden rule
Oxygen is always the first thing on and the last thing off. Turn on your oxygen before your generator, and turn off your generator before your oxygen.
Know the safety basics
- Never inhale ozone gas directly
- Use a destruct for applications that release ozone
- Work in a well-ventilated room
- Use ozone-resistant tubing and accessories
