The differences between models come down to output, adjustability, and, in the case of the O3Arc and O3Arc Lite, a set of practitioner-oriented features not found on the home models.
O3Elite Mini: A Simple, Focused Option
The Mini uses a single ceramic cell with one-button operation. Rather than adjusting concentration on the unit itself, output is controlled through the oxygen source regulator. This makes the Mini a good fit for anyone who already knows which application they plan to use ozone for and doesn't require a broader range of settings.
The maximum output on the O3Elite Mini is 70 Gamma(µg/mL), which is sufficient for a wide range of common applications.
The Mini is a strong choice for those who are new to ozone, have one or two specific applications in mind, and prefer a more affordable, straightforward option.
O3Elite Single: The Most Versatile Home Option
The Single shares the Mini's single-cell design but adds an adjustable dial, giving users precise control over ozone concentration within the same 70 Gamma(µg/mL) range. This is Promolife's most popular generator.
That added control supports a considerably wider range of applications, including ozonated
water, insufflation, topical use, cupping, ozone bags, and dental applications. The unit remains compact and quiet enough for regular home use, while offering more versatility than the Mini.
For customers who are undecided on which applications they'll use most, the Single is typically the recommended starting point. It allows for flexibility without the added cost of a two-cell unit.
O3Elite Dual: Higher Output for Expanded Applications
The Dual features two independent ceramic cells rather than one, increasing maximum output to 100 Gamma(µg/mL). This additional capacity is particularly useful for ozone sauna applications, which generally require greater volume and concentration than a single-cell unit can provide.
The Dual is also well suited to ozonating larger quantities of water, as two cells allow for faster processing than a single cell operating at capacity.

O3Arc and O3Arc Lite: Designed for Practitioner Use
The O3Arc is Promolife's professional-grade generator. It shares the Dual's two-cell design and 100 Gamma(µg/mL) output ceiling, but adds a set of features suited to clinical or practitioner settings: foot-pedal operation for hands-free control, an auxiliary port, and a built-in ozone destruct system. The O3Arc Lite has the same additional settings but has a 70 Gamma(µg/mL) output ceiling and is much more compact taking up less space.
The additional features on these units are generally unnecessary for home use, which is why Promolife positions the O3Arc line primarily for practitioners. The line’s value is most apparent in clinical or high-volume settings where these controls are regularly utilized.

Matching the Generator to the Application
Output capacity alone should not be the deciding factor when selecting a generator; the intended application matters more. A generator capable of reaching 100 Gamma(µg/mL) is not inherently superior to one capped at 70 Gamma(µg/mL) if the intended use never requires that concentration. Higher output simply provides additional headroom for applications that call for it.
The more useful question is not which generator has the highest output, but which generator best matches current and anticipated future use. Considering both will typically clarify the right choice.
Understanding Ozone Concentration: Gamma (µg/mL)
Ozone output is measured in µg/mL, often referred to as gamma. This figure represents the concentration of ozone in the gas produced by the generator. A higher maximum output does not indicate "stronger" or higher-quality ozone; it simply means the unit is capable of reaching a higher concentration when needed.
For this reason, adjustability is often more important than maximum output. The Single, Dual, O3Arc, and O3Arc Lite all allow users to adjust concentration, while the Mini is intentionally simpler. Regardless of which generator is selected, users should follow the concentration recommended for their specific application, ideally under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.
Oxygen Source Requirements
Ozone generators do not produce ozone from ambient air. Each unit requires a high-purity oxygen source, which the ozone cell then partially converts into ozone (O₃) from oxygen (O₂). Suitable oxygen sources include oxygen tanks, prefilled tanks, and oxygen concentrators.
Customers setting up their first ozone system should select an oxygen source alongside the generator, rather than as a separate, later decision.
