Ozone Generators
Which Ozone Generator Should You Choose?
Promolife builds two lines of ozone generators: the O3Elite, available in three sizes (Mini, Single, and Dual), and the O3Arc. All four are made in the USA, run on universal voltage for use anywhere in the world, and carry a lifetime warranty on the ozone cell. They differ mainly in maximum ozone concentration, how finely you can adjust the output, and which uses they're best suited to. If you're new to ozone, the short version is below; the full comparison and a glossary follow.
New to Ozone?
An ozone generator converts pure oxygen into ozone gas, which you then use for whatever ozone application you have in mind. Three things are worth knowing before you choose a model:
You need a separate oxygen source. An ozone generator does not work on room air. It requires a high-purity oxygen supply, which is sold separately. Your options are a medical oxygen tank (requires a prescription), an industrial oxygen tank (filled locally, no prescription), pre-filled oxygen tanks, or an oxygen concentrator (no tanks to refill). If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you match a source to your plans. See our Oxygen page for options.
"More output" is not automatically "better." Output is measured in micrograms per milliliter (ug/ml), often called gamma. Different uses call for different concentrations, and every adjustable model lets you dial output up or down. A higher maximum simply means more flexibility for high-concentration uses like saunas, not that the unit is better for everyone.
You might not need the most advanced model. Most first-time buyers do well with the O3Elite Single. It's fully adjustable and handles nearly every common ozone application. Step up to the O3Elite Dual if you specifically want to run an ozone sauna or saturate water and oil faster. Choose the O3Elite Mini if you want the simplest, lowest-cost way to start and mainly plan to ozonate water or do insufflations. The O3Arc Plus adds practitioner-friendly features (a second output port, foot-pedal operation, and a built-in ozone destruct system) for higher-volume or clinical use.
Ozone Terms Explained
-
Gamma / ug/ml (micrograms per milliliter): The concentration of ozone in the gas the unit produces. It's the main spec people compare. Higher numbers mean the unit can produce more concentrated ozone; you adjust to the level your application calls for.
-
Ozone cell: The component that turns oxygen into ozone. Promolife cells are ceramic and carry a lifetime warranty.
-
Fully adjustable: You can fine-tune ozone output using both the oxygen source and a dial on the generator itself, rather than the oxygen source alone.
-
Insufflation: A method of administering ozone gas into a body cavity (for example, ear, rectal, or vaginal). One of the most common home applications.
-
Ozonating water: Bubbling ozone into water so the water carries dissolved ozone.
-
Ozonated oil: Bubbling ozone through oil over time to create an ozonated oil for topical use or to safely breathe ozonides.
-
Cupping: Applying ozone gas to an area of skin contained under a cup or bag.
-
Full body ozone: Surrounding the body (typically in a sauna or bag, head out) with ozone gas.
-
Ozone sauna: A steam or heat sauna combined with ozone gas; needs higher, faster output, which is why the Dual or O3Arc is recommended for it.
-
Ozone destruct: A built-in system that neutralizes excess ozone so it isn't released into the room.
-
Luer lock: A secure twist-on tubing connection that won't slip off.
-
Universal voltage: Works on any standard mains voltage worldwide without a transformer.
Ozone therapy is not approved by the FDA. Promolife makes no health claims. Please consult your physician before use. See the full disclaimer at the bottom of this page.

Why choose Promolife?
Best Features
All ozone generator models have some important features in common, including a Lifetime Warranty on the ozone cell. These include:
- Universal Voltage: No transformer needed; they can be used worldwide.
- Efficient Ozone Cells: Our cells are able to produce ultra-pure ozone efficiently, making these units almost whisper-quiet. Compare this to loud, inefficient units, and the difference is clear. Very low voltage makes it safer for you.
- Ceramic Ozone Cells: As ultra pure and ozone-resistant as glass without the burnout potential of glass. Custom-made in the United States.
- Luer Lock Connections: With Luer Locks, tubing connects securely and won't slip off.
- Cold Ozone Production: Cold Corona production means there's no need for cooling fans and no heat buildup that weakens ozone.
- Made in the USA: All parts are made in the USA. Units are built and hand-checked at our location in Northwest Arkansas.
- Premier Support: Because our units are built here, we won't pass you off to other companies for support. We are here to help if you need it.
- CE Approved
Years of Research
The O3Elite and O3Arc are the results of years of research and development. We wanted to create a unit that offered ultra-pure ozone, was easy to use, had top-grade quality control, and a number of features previous customers recommended.
These units are low wattage and low frequency, with cells that won't burn out like glass and do not produce an abundance of heat. They are quiet and efficient, making them ideal for all kinds of ozone applications (if you've ever done an ear insufflation with a different kind of generator, you know how important it is to eliminate the fighter jet-like noise of less efficient machines). When the O3Elite or O3Arc runs, you barely hear it. Because they operate at such low voltage, they are some of the safest ozone generators you can find.
All units come with ceramic ozone cells, Luer Lock connections and universal voltage for worldwide use.
The O3Elite Single and Dual feature dial adjustments. The O3Arc includes a second ozone out port that can be operated by the button or a foot pedal.
Cold Ozone Production
In some machines, ozone production is loud and creates a lot of heat, which can degrade the quality. This is not a problem with the O3Elite or O3Arc. The process makes no excess heat with stable ozone output concentrations at a variety of oxygen flow rates. The O3Elite Mini has simple on/off operation and is adjustable by changing your oxygen source output. The O3Elite Single and Dual and the O3Arcs are fully adjustable using the oxygen source and the ozone generator itself. We provide gamma output charts that allow you to choose the exact settings to get the output you want.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need anything besides the ozone generator to get started?
Yes. You need a high-purity oxygen source, which is sold separately, plus the glassware or accessories for your specific application. The generator includes an accessory kit (see "What comes in the box" below), but not oxygen.
What oxygen source do I need, and how do I get one?
You have three options: a medical oxygen tank (requires a prescription), an industrial oxygen tank (can be filled at local businesses without a prescription), pre-filled oxygen tanks, or an oxygen concentrator (no refilling required, a good choice if you'll use a lot of oxygen). We're happy to help you choose. See our Oxygen page or contact support.
Which generator should a beginner buy?
Most first-time buyers choose the O3Elite Single, which is fully adjustable and handles nearly every common application. Choose the Dual if you want ozone saunas, the Mini for the simplest and lowest-cost start, or the O3Arc for practitioner-grade features.
What does ug/ml or "gamma" mean?
It's the concentration of ozone in the gas the unit produces. Different applications call for different concentrations, and adjustable models let you set the level you need. A higher maximum gives more flexibility for high-concentration uses, but isn't necessary for everyone.
What comes in the box?
Each model includes an accessory kit with silicone tubing with a Luer lock adapter, oxygen tubing with a Luer lock adapter, additional Luer lock adapters, an instruction manual, a ug/ml gamma chart, a power adapter, a check valve, and Luer lock caps.
Are these generators made in the USA?
Yes. Every unit is built and hand-checked at our facility in Northwest Arkansas. Each carries a lifetime warranty on the ozone cell and is CE approved.
Can I use these outside the United States?
Yes. All models run on universal voltage and need no transformer. An international plug kit is available and automatically included with international orders.
Is ozone therapy FDA approved or safe?
Promolife's ozone generators are not approved medical devices unless explicitly stated, and the FDA does not currently support the use of ozone in medicine. Promolife makes no health claims. Please consult your physician before using any ozone product. See the full disclaimer at the bottom of this page.
