Use ozone water in your Waterpik or water flosser

Pour ozone water directly into your Waterpik to enhance its effectiveness. Flossing with ozone water may help reduce the bad bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease.

Use ozone water to clean surfaces

Ozone water has been shown to eliminate viruses and bacteria through oxidation quickly. Add ozone water to a spray bottle to promptly disinfect surfaces. Ozone turns back into oxygen so no harmful residues are left behind.  

The EZO3 creates ozone through the process of electrolysis. An electrolytic ozone generator is a gold standard for making ozonated water. During the process, some of the water (H2O) molecules split apart, allowing oxygen atoms to bind into ozone (O3). The remaining water becomes saturated with ozone in a way that does not off-gas. Once saturated, ozone will remain for 20 minutes.

Ozone water is measured by the dissolved ozone suspended in the water. The form of measurement used is Parts Per Million (PPM), the industry standard.  

Ozone Water and Microbes: A PPM of 0.5 dissolved ozone is typically considered a good sterilizing agent. Higher concentrations can neutralize microbes with even greater effect. A good way to categorize ozone water would be as follows:

Low strength: 0.5 – 1 PPM
Medium strength: 2 – 3 PPM
High strength: 4+ PPM

The chart below shows several different microbes and the suggested concentrations to sterilize them effectively. On average most microbes including viruses will quickly be eliminated using ozone water at 2ppm or higher. Contact time plays an important role, so the stronger the ozone water, the less contact time is needed to eliminate the microbe.

Why Ozone is the safest choice

Ozone is comprised of three parts oxygen and quickly breaks down to just oxygen. Ozone leaves no chemical residues behind, making it the preferred choice for chemically sensitive individuals. Unlike other options, bacteria and viruses will never develop resistance to ozone, and ozone dissolved in water will never cause mouth or skin irritation. Ozone water is so safe it is regularly consumed for its health benefits. It's just electrically charged oxygen.

The Half-Life of Ozone Water: Below is a chart that shows the half-life of dissolved ozone in water based on temperature. The colder the water, the longer the half-life will be.

30 minutes: 59 degrees Fahrenheit
20 minutes: 68 degrees Fahrenheit
15 minutes: 77 degrees Fahrenheit
12 minutes: 86 degrees Fahrenheit
8 minutes: 95 degrees Fahrenheit

Note: Water PH does play a role and the higher the PH, the shorter the half-life.
