How to Set Up Ozone Cups for Topical Ozone Therapy
Transcript
Hey everyone, my name is Colton and today I'll be setting up the silicone ozone cups.
Before we begin, you will need your oxygen source and ozone generator ready to continue with this setup. If you still need to set up your oxygen source or ozone generator, please watch our videos on how to set those up first.
For this setup, I'll be using the silicone ozone cup set and the 5ft section of silicone hose that's included with the ozone generator. I'll be using the smaller of the two cups that are included, but the setup for them will be the same.
The ozone cup is used to treat an area topically with ozone gas. Many will use them on growths or small wounds. To begin, we'll take the 5ft segment of silicone tubing with the check valve connector set included with the ozone generator. Connect this end with a fitting to the ozone output of the generator. We will then take the other end of this tube and attach it to the fitting on the side of the cup here.
Now you can turn on your oxygen tank and set your flow rate to whichever flow rate you would like, but it's most normally used on 1/8 or 1/4 LPM. At this point, you'll place the cup over the area you want to use the ozone gas on. Some will wet the area first to ensure you can keep a good seal around the edge of the cup and to help prevent dryness on the site. Now you can turn on your ozone generator to the dial setting you want to use and treat the area.
You want to be sure to keep the cup pressed against the skin to make sure that you have a good seal. The ozone gas that is being used will be turned back into oxygen after it exits through the destruct system stem here. When you are done with use, you can then turn off your ozone generator and let the oxygen flow through the cup while it's still against the skin for 20 to 30 seconds to ensure that all the ozone gets pushed through the destruct system. After that time has passed, you can then turn off your oxygen source.
