Promolife's 540 oxygen tanks are colorless and temp coated. This will make it easier for you to get the tank filled. Temp Coat or Temp Alert is designed to change the tank's color if it exposed to heat over 350 degrees F (176 degrees C). The tank will turn a purple color indicating the tank has been compromised and must be condemned. This is a safety feature. Aluminum oxygen tanks that exceed these temperatures may develop issues that make filling unsafe.

AirGas and PraxAir are the two largest suppliers of oxygen in the nation and recently adopted a policy to only fill tanks that are temp coated. Other suppliers will surely follow suit. By having a temp coated tank, you will have more options when it comes to getting it filled. Promolife is the only company offering these tanks.

Medical tanks have a green top, which can make them difficult or impossible to get filled at a non-medical facility. A colorless tank clears up confusion for the company filling your tank. Green topped 870 medical tanks are an option if you have a prescription for oxygen.
