The Advanced Black Carbon Far Infrared Technology was originally created by NASA. The sauna features a carbon sheeting panel, a flexible carbon sheet contoured to match the entire interior of the dome as well as the bottom by the feet.

The interior has the following arrangement - bakelight dome (bakelight is a special plastic made with wood fiber and has a high heat tolerance - as plastics go it is quite low on the toxic scale); next is a dome shaped layer of carbon sheeting; next is a metal sheet and behind the metal are wires.
