Facts about Frequencies and Wavelengths

Why does the PAIN-X-2000™ have such a high power rating?
High average power is required to get the penetration and to get the job done fast. The several different wavelengths used in the PAIN-X-2000™ are very effective at penetrating living tissue without any harmful side effects.
In order to understand the following information you will need to know the following terms and what they really mean.
- Wavelength = Measured in Nanometers, determines the color of the LED.
- Pulsing = The turning off and on of an LED at various rates.
- Frequencies = Our competitors word for rate of pulsing or turning off and on LED's
Some companies advertise they are selling 7 frequencies of light, when in fact they only have 2 or 3 wavelengths of light and are pulsing them 7 different ways. ( The pulsing of light only means that the lights are turned off and on at various rates.) An LED is on 100% of the time so if you pulse the LED it may be off even more than it is on. The LED's in the PAIN-X-2000 are on 100% of the time. This helps explain why some of our competitors’ products take longer to treat the patient.

Example
Let's say you were treating with a 10 LED array and the lights were not pulsed ( different frequencies of operation) and it took 5 minutes to perform the treatment.
If you used a competitors unit that had the same 10 LED array and it was pulsed (Frequency of operation changed) to a 50% duty cycle. It would then take 10 minutes or twice as long to deliver the same amount of energy for the treatment.
The idea behind pulsing is to save battery power on portable units. Since it takes longer to complete the treatment you are really not saving battery power.
