What’s in my Oxia Personal Oxygen dispenser?

The Oxia Personal Oxygen Dispenser contains approximately six Gallons (23 metric litres) of oxygen-enriched air, made up of 90% Oxygen (O2) and 10% Nitrogen (N2).

The oxygen-enriched air contained in your Oxia Personal Oxygen dispenser is pressurized at approximately 3,000psi (210bar) at the time of purchase, and provides from three to five minutes of continuous air-flow depending on the flow-rate chosen by you.

Oxia adopts rigorous safety and quality-assurance standards to ensure your Oxia Personal Oxygen dispenser contains only the most pure oxygen-enriched air.

As an added safety mechanism, your Oxia Personal Oxygen dispenser also contains an internal 60 micron particle filter through which all the contents are dispensed to further ensure no contaminants are emitted from the dispenser at any time.
 

What is Oxygen (O2)?

• Oxygen (O2) is the single most essential element that sustains all life on earth. It is also a powerful detoxifier and provides a natural energy boost to all plants and animals, especially humans.
• Oxygen makes up about 20% of normal atmospheric air in unpolluted environments. In addition, about 67% of the human body, and 90% of water is made up of Oxygen.
• Oxygen gas is colorless, odorless and tasteless, so you will not be able to see, smell or taste the Oxygen contained in your Oxia Personal Oxygen dispenser.
• The human body can only survive for approximately 3 minutes without Oxygen.

How is Oxia Personal Oxygen different from normal atmospheric air?

Normal dry atmospheric air in a clean and unpolluted environment is usually made up of 21% Oxygen (O2), 78% Nitrogen (N2) and 1% Argon, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and various other gases.

However, normal atmospheric air in polluted environments in which most of us live, such as most capital cities in the United States, contain much higher levels of dangerous pollutants including Carbon Monoxide (CO), Lead (Pb), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Ozone (O3), Particulate Matter (PM) and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2).

Your Oxia Personal Oxygen dispenser contains none of these contaminants or pollutants, and also contains a much higher concentration of pure Oxygen (O2).
 

Can I take Oxia on commercial airlines?

Generally no. In the USA, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) rules prohibit passengers taking compressed oxygen canisters on regular commercial passenger airline flights. This is clearly stated in most airlines' terms and conditions of travel. It is likely that if you try to take Oxia with you, it will be confiscated and not returned to you.

This is not a direct safety issue. Most commercial flights carry compressed oxygen bottles on board, however, the FAA rules dictate that the airline must have owned and self-serviced these units since new. Obviously a passenger carrying Oxia would not conform with this rule.

The rules in Canada are slightly different and we advise you to check with your airline before taking Oxia with you.
