Testimonials We use Bird Gard in our substations where we have had a starling problem. We have been very pleased with the results, even to the point that we recently ordered several additional ones. We went from having to clean our bushing of droppings on a regular basis to no droppings at all! Keep up the good work. - Gene Harvey, Purchasing Agent, Moon Lake Electric Association We had a thousand or so Common Grackles roosting in a bamboo grove next to our home, and while it was wonderful to watch giant flocks fly about, they had become nuisance (droppings). The first day of operation seemed to have little effect, but by the fourth or fifth day the number of birds was reduced by 50 or so. Within 14 days there were none! Finally a clean car, thank you! - Stanley G. Shaw, homeowner The Bird Gard Super Pro Amp tested at the International Airport In Katowice, fulfilled 100% of our expectations. At the test site within the radius of 250 meters all birds were gone and the state continued through the test. Due to the successful results of the device application, The airport management made a decision of purchasing three Bird Gard Super Pro Amps. - Pawel Wojda, Director MPL Katowice In past years, the beaches had to be closed to swimmers because of the high E.coli count due to gull feces. Thanks to Bird Gard, this is the first summer we haven't had to close the beaches at all! - Cayuga Department of Health |
Bird Gard bird repellents can help keep pesky birds away from gardens, crops, livestock feed, houses, boat slips, airfields and other locations. Bird Gard devices act on a bird's natural instincts to make them want to escape the area. Digital recordings of distress and alarm calls specific to a particular species are used to make the birds believe they are under attack. Birds in the area will leave and others will avoid entering the area in the first place. The sophisticated technology makes sure that the birds won't get used to the sounds.
Bird Gard natural bird repellers have options for recordings for more than 100 common birds so it's easy to find a Bird Gard distress calls chip to suit your needs. They can be used indoors and outside and work even in extreme conditions. The enclosures come durable and waterproof and have the hardware needed for your to mount them on a pole or post. All units operate on either a 12 volt battery or 110/240 volt current (excluding the Bird Gard Super Pro Amp that only runs on 12V). Optional solar panels can help recharge 12 volt batteries.
If you need help deciding which unit and chip you need, you can call us at 888-742-3404, email info@promolife.com or see our comparison below. Otherwise you can jump right to the units.
How to choose the right Bird Gard unit
In order to find the right unit for your situation, you need to take the following into consideration:
- Size and dimensions of the area - Bird Gard units and speakers should be placed 50-100 feet inside the perimeter with speakers facing out as birds often feed from the perimeter of the crops.
- Terrain and any obstacles - sound travels mostly in a straight line so units need to be positioned to take hills, trees, buildings and other obstacles into consideration.
- Height of your crops - units need to be mounted three feet above the top of your crops. For tree canopies over 20 feet tall, units need to be both three feet above the top and below the canopy to fully cover the area.
- Alternate food sources - if your crops are the only food source in the area you may need more speakers or more power in order to chase them all away successfully.
- Water sources and roosting areas - more units should be placed in areas where birds like to gather.
- Bird types - most birds need units at the higher end of the spectrum around 2000-10000 Hz, while larger birds only respond to 500-5000 Hz frequencies made by the Super Pro PA4.
- Weather - in areas where high wind and rain are frequent, you may need additional units or higher power.
