A State-of-the-Art Cellular Phone/ELF Detection Meter

Dual use meter featuring cellular phone RF radiation measurement as well as an accurate single-axis EMF Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Gauss meter.

RF Detection Detects and Measures the RF Radiation Emitted by Mobile Phones

  • Calibrated around 835 MHz, this radiation meter will detect and measure power density expressed in milliWatts per centimeter (mW/cm2) emitted by analog or digital as well as GSM or PCS mobile phones. Two scales. High sensitivity scale 0-1 and Normal sensitivity scale 0-10 mW/cm2.
  • Complete documentation instructs the user on how to conduct a proper measurement and details the standards for emissions in the U.S. Also includes a comprehensive reference section on RF radiation issues from around the world.

ELF Detection - CellSensor Easily Detects and Measures Them

  • An accurate and easy-to-use Gauss meter focused around 50-60 Hz EMF fields emitted by power lines, TV's, computer monitors and home appliances.
Use of a remote probe with a 2 foot extension cord allows the user to reach any area while keeping an eye on field strength. Two scales, 0-5 and 0-50 milliGauss with a relatively flat frequency response curve.

Features Sound and Visual Signals Combined with Analog Measurement

  • Audio signal with volume control
  • Light signal
  • ISO 9001 controlled manufacturing
  • Comprehensive documentation backed by web support
  • Competitively priced
  • Rugged ABS plastic construction, high quality components
  • CE registered
  • Requires one 9-volt alkaline battery
  • Backed by a no-questions-asked 30-day end user warranty

For Distribution Power Lines

  • The level of voltage of the power line that you are measuring is not as important a determinant for the level of electromagnetic fields as the amount of current going through them, their geometry, and the distance to the point of measurement.

For Transmission Power Lines

  • It could be that the power lines going by your property carry DC current, in which case they would generate very small electromagnetic fields. If the transmission lines going by your property are not in multiples of three, then it is very likely that it is a DC power line.

For Both Types

  • It is a possibility that because of the geometry of the lines they cancel each others' EMF field.

On Positioning the Probe

  • Make sure you are aligning the probe properly to measure the highest level of EMFs. If you are standing right underneath the power line, try the probe both parallel and perpendicular to the power lines. Always rotate the probe in space to find the highest reading as the CellSensor is a single axis meter.

10 to 20% of all homes are covered in "hot spots" of electromagnetic fields over 2 milligauss. With the CellSensor, one can walk the house and in 5 minutes find these hot spots that measure over 2 and avoid placing beds and furniture there. Simple to use, the meter shows the hot spots with needle, light and sound! The meter is normally quiet...showing 0 reading. When you walk by a hot spot, the needle goes up over 2, the light glows, the sound beeps!

Without the meter, it is impossible to know where the hot spots are! A hot spot could be created by sleeping with a TV on the other side of the wall, or by faulty wiring, typical after renovation projects, or by proximity to visible or hidden underground powerlines!

While the reason for the creation of hot spots can be simple or complex, avoiding the hot spots is always very simple. Most hot spots are small, so moving a bed or furniture just a couple of feet usually does the trick! Most hot spots are dealt with that way, just avoid placing furniture there by moving it a little bit!

Simply plug the included probe into the meter, turn it on, place the setting on H for high sensitivity, and the meter needle now is reading 0 to 5 in its display. Readings over 2 are high. Those are the hot spots to avoid. In this same way the meter shows safe distances from appliances such as TVs and microwaves!

Since 10 to 20% of all homes have hot spots, it is important to spend 5 minutes checking the home! It is simple and one gets a great feeling of accomplishment when one move's a child's pillow away from a hot spot!

Time Magazine writes about electromagnetic fields:

Time Magazine writes: "Those exposed to fields of 2 milligauss showed a threefold increase in their risk, while children exposed to 3 milligauss showed a fourfold increase in the risk of leukemia. Such as clear progression makes it difficult to argue that factors other than exposure to the electromagnetic field were responsible for the extra cases of leukemia."

Time Magazine writes: the research "...shows an unmistakable correlation between the degree of exposure and the risk of childhood leukemia." The second study "...linked on-the-job exposure to electromagnetic fields and leukemia in workingmen." "What makes the Karolinska study particularly significant is the thoroughness of its design. The investigation encompassed nearly 500,000 people." "One of the most telling results was that the cancer risk grew in proportion to the strength of the electromagnetic field. Children with constant exposure to the weakest fields, calculated at less than 1 milligauss (about the same that a coffee maker generates when it is brewing), had the lowest incidence of cancer." "Numerous reports in the popular press have blared out warnings." "...a growing number of scientific studies suggest that the risk of leukemia and other malignancies rises with exposure to electromagnetic fields."
Time Magazine, October 26th, 1992.

Radiation is linked to cancer, leukemia, headaches, fatigue, cataracts, miscarriages and birth defects. The US EPA recommends "prudent avoidance." In August of 2001, the International Agency for Research on Cancer unanimously concluded that magnetic fields are carcinogens in the same class as DDT and lead. Scientists from the US, UK and 8 other countries "all agreed," said Dr. Larry Anderson. Magnetic fields were also linked in June of 2001 to a six fold increase in miscarriages, by the Kaiser Permanente's research division.
Simple to use! The example below shows how the meter helps to move furniture away from hot spots! It is OK to be in a hot spot over 2 milligauss for a short time, but not for a long time, such as during 8 hours of sleep. 10 to 20% of the typical home is covered in hot spots, and the meter will show you where not to place beds and furniture, in order to avoid long term exposure over readings of 2.
