The TRAVelite can be used in a horizontal or vertical position and shine up or down for great versatility.  Just place the unit on a flat surface.  At up to a foot away you get 10,000 lux and at 18 inches away you get 5,000.  At 10,000 it is usually used for 20-30 minutes a day and at 5,000 for about an hour.  Treatments occurs through the eyes but you will not need to look directly at the unit.

It is recommended to use it at around the same time every day.
