With the Athena, you don't just get perfectly ionized water.  You also get clean, filtered water.  The on-board dual filtration purifies potable water until it is 99.9% free of contaminates.  The Athena's UltraWater Filtration System contains 100% chemical free, sustainable and all natural media. 

You can choose the standard model or the specialized fluoride model, which works to remove fluoride in addition to other contaminates.  The Fluoride model comes with the free upgraded UltraWater filter and the free upgraded Fluoride-Arsenic Filter.  The Non-Fluoride model comes with the free upgraded UltraWater filter and the factory sediment filter.
 

ORP, pH and the Athena Ionizer

Research shows that the best alkaline water level has an ORP of -250mv and a pH between 8.5 and 9.5.  It doesn't matter if an ionizer can make huge -ORP numbers at very high pH levels.  Alkaline water with a pH over 10 starts to create an unpleasant taste.  The Athena will produce those large numbers if you like but it was designed to provide the best ORP at optimal pH levels that you will truly enjoy drinking.
 

The Athena Electrodes

Electrodes are extremely important in an ionizer because they create the ionization.  The electrodes in the Athena optimize ionization without using corrosives, and they do not leach titanium.  The cutting edge design is placed in the most effective configuration.  Each electrode is charged and sprays with multiple platinum coats from varying angles to assure durability, uniformity, consistency and performance.  The electrodes have an increased surface area and conductivity.  The Emco Tech Mesh Diode Electrodes provide superior ionization in a more compact size to their efficiency.
 

Durability and the Athena

Since an ionizer is an investment in your health, you want it to last.  The Athena offers something most ionizers don't - the Double Automatic Reverse Cleaning system (DARC).  This eliminates mineral scaling on the electrodes so they last much longer, and because DARC cleans while you ionize, you don't have to wait for a cleaning cycle to complete before enjoying ionized water.

The Athena has a flow control valve so you can fine tune performance and water pressure.  No additional circuits are needed.  It's one of the only systems that can be installed three ways:  at your sink with a tap diverter; at your sink plumbed into the cold water line with no diverter; and under the sink and out of sight with a small dedicated faucet (sold separately).
