How does it work?

Permanent ceramic magnets do not lose a lot of strength over time and SoPhTec units will still be useful after 100 years.  These products house a very powerful configuration of magnetic fields that change the physical characteristics of water, eliminating lime scale.  This super cleans water pipe interiors, reducing the damage caused by lime scale buildup.  Using this technique, hard water will perform more like soft water.  This is an inexpensive, effective way to safeguard the enormous investments that we have in our homes and appliances, and it protects the environment at the same time.

Changing grains to ppm:
grains x 17.1 = ppm
ppm divided by 17.1 = grains

Typically we can treat up to and over 40 grains or 685 ppm, and even higher depending on the water quality.  We have successfully treated up to 60 grain water hardness.

The C-500 weighs six pounds. Its shipping size is 6" x 6" x 4".  Fits pipe size 1/2" to 2" outside diameter.

Note:  iron will have a much harder time staining because iron adheres to the rough surface that calcium carbonate creates. This roughness is nearly eliminated with the use of this unit, but the unit does not remove iron itself.   Note: Magnetic water softeners will not perform in the same manner as a salt based, ionic exchange water softener.
